Services offered at Umgeni hospital
Umgeni Hospital admits patients who are diagnosed with severe and profound
mental retardation. Patients are admitted on long term basis in terms of Mental
Health Care, Act NO 17 of 2002. Applications are received from the community,
Non Government Organisations, Non Profit Organisations, Government Departments
and other Stakeholders. Social Work Section then facilitates process of
admission together with members of Multi-Disciplinary Team.
