Catherine Booth Hospital : Maternity Ward & StoreFunding amounting to R2.25 million was secured from the Anglo American Chairman’s Fund and the De Beers Fund for the construction of a new maternity ward and store at Catherine Booth Hospital. Local labour is being used in the construction wherever possible in accordance with Provincial policy. The six month construction period commenced during March 2001.The project is well advanced and is on target for completion during September 2001. The cost of equipment is being borne by this Department as per agreement. The equipment itself is being procured by the Facilities Management Directorate and being stored at the Central Provincial Store for later delivery. Construction in
