Pholela Community Health Centre is in the Harry Gwala District located in the Dr Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma municipality. Pholela CHC was officially opened on the 21 April 2001.
Pholela CHC's vision is to be a leading provider of optimal community orientated primary health care in KwaHlanganani. This vision is supported by the CHC's mission which is to provide effective, efficient and integrated primary health care service for the community of KwaHlanganani through community orientated primary health care system.
Pholela CHC is
situated in a rural mountainous surrounding near Bulwer town. It is
predominately of low socio-economic status with local's dependant on social
grants and informal employment.
The CHC has achieved a certificate of recognition for the implementation of the comprehensive care plan for the prevention, treatment, care and support of HIV and Aids, STI and TB in KwaZulu-Natal. Pholela CHC abides by the Patients Rights Charter and Batho Pele Principles .
